INDIVIDUALS

Individuals stand to represent a person, company or government in a series of collections. Anco precision machining not only works with governments and companies but we can also help individuals with their machining needs. The fields of statistics and metaphysics describe the word individual as ‘indivisible’ which describes any, numerically singular, thing. It is commonly used to refer to a single person as well. Individuals can also stand to represent a difference from the norm in any area. The term individuality means you are an individual or a person that remains separated from the others.

The famous philosopher, DeCartes stated that, “I think there for I am” which really stands of the point that individuals are distinct and unique to the world. Locke, another famous and respected philosopher introduced the idea that we are individual blank slates at birth that are shaped by our every experience, education and actions around us. This idea was a precursor to the notion that for us to obtain liberty we must include the rights of free individuals that of a society that have made a social contract between themselves. An idea that goes hand in hand with the existence o f an individual is Ayn Rand’s notion of Objectivism.

This idea states every man, woman, and child is an independent entity who holds an inalienable right to enjoy his or her own life, a right that was given to us by nature. It can be hard for individuals to stand out against today’s major manufacturing outlets, but here at Anco precision machining it is our goal to help the little guy. Objectivists feel that peaceful, civilized societies must be based in cooperation with the realization that we have individual rights. Thus, no group has its own rights, but encompasses the rights of all individuals involved. Seeing that only an individual person can posses rights, the common phrase ‘individual rights’ is redundant. Rand also feels that our individual rights can and will never be subject to a public vote and that the majority has no right to vote away the rights of a smaller, less represented group. Really what it comes down to is the basic protection of minorities against an oppressive and unjust majority.

Without the acceptance of the individual our very constitution would have no basis. In recent years the term economic colonialism has been coined to explain the US market drowning out nation’s cultures through the marketing of US ideals and goods. Respecting an individual person is surely just as important as the respect and recognition of individual countries and cultures. As globalism spreads and it becomes easier and easier to access information and goods it is imperative that we protect individuality.
